As part of their science learning about states of matter, Year 3/4 children made oobleck by mixing cornflour and water. This exciting investigation helped them explore how materials can behave in different ways. The children observed that oobleck acts like both a liquid and a solid: when it is poured, it flows like a liquid, but when pressure is applied, it feels hard like a solid. This hands-on activity helped deepen their understanding of solids and liquids while developing their enquiry and observation skills.
